When building a new DecoNetwork website, one of the most important first steps is selecting a theme. Your theme controls the layout of your website’s header – the only part of your site that is not fully customizable using drag-and-drop tools.

Why choosing a theme matters
The theme defines the structure and positioning of key elements in your website’s header – including your logo, navigation menu, and top bar content. Since the header appears across all pages and is not drag-and-drop editable, selecting the right theme early ensures a consistent and professional layout.
- Controls header layout: Determines where your logo, navigation, and tools appear
- Sets the visual foundation: Impacts the look and usability of your entire site
- Reduces rework: Choosing early avoids needing to redesign your site later
Step 1: Navigate to theme selection
- Go to Admin → Websites.
- Locate your website and click Manage.
- Select Edit Website → Website Pages.
- Click Theme in the left toolbar to access the theme selection area.
Access the theme settings from your website management area
Step 2: Choose a theme layout
Each theme defines a different header layout. The key differences are the placement of:
- Logo
- Navigation menu
- Top bar content (phone number, search, login, cart)
Common theme examples:
-
Fashion theme:
- Logo centered at the top
- Navigation directly underneath
- Top bar elements aligned across the header
-
Black Simple theme:
- Similar layout to Fashion
- No background color behind navigation by default
-
Preston theme:
- Logo aligned to the left
- Navigation centered
- Top bar information positioned separately
Step 3: Apply or change a theme
- Select your desired theme.
- Choose whether to reset pages (optional).
- Click OK to apply the theme.
Apply the theme
When applying a new theme:
- The current version of your site is automatically saved
- You can revert back if needed
Best-practice tips
- Choose your theme at the very beginning of your website setup
- Avoid switching themes after building multiple pages
- Select a layout that aligns with your branding and navigation needs
- Preview how your logo and menu will appear before committing
Troubleshooting
My site layout changed unexpectedly after switching themes
This can happen if you reset pages during the theme change. Revert to a previous version if needed.
The header doesn’t match what I expected
Review the theme layout carefully – header positioning is controlled entirely by the theme and cannot be rearranged manually.
FAQs
Can I customize the header layout?
No. The header layout is controlled by the theme and cannot be modified using drag-and-drop tools.
Can I change themes later?
Yes, but it is not recommended after your site is built, as it may affect layout and require adjustments.
Will I lose my work if I change themes?
Not necessarily. DecoNetwork saves a version of your site when you apply a new theme, allowing you to revert if needed.
