A product's retail price is determined by the pricing method set for the blank product and the pricing method set for any decorations that are added. These settings are applied globally to all products by default.
The blank product pricing method is set via Admin > Products > Supplier Product Markup. See the article, Supplier Product Markup, for specific details on configuring markups.
Decoration pricing methods are set via Admin > Decoration Processes > Decoration Pricing. See the article, Decoration Pricing, for specific details on configuring decoration pricing.
If you wish to apply a specific price configuration to a group of products, you can do this efficiently by configuring product defaults. Product defaults lets you configure the properties of products that belong to specific groups. Properties you can configure include shipping, minimum quantity, pricing and sizing, to name a few. See the article, Product Defaults, for specific details on configuring product defaults.
In order to configure product defaults, you must first enable the Product Defaults app in the Apps Store. The app is located in the Product Extensions section. In order for a product to use a particular product default setting, the specific product default must be selected in the General properties section of the product's configuration page. (Click change to change the Product Default used).
You have further flexibility of overriding price settings at the product level if the global or product default setting is not suitable for particular products. Do this via Admin > Products > Manage > Edit Product > Pricing. See the article, Product Pricing, for specific details on configuring pricing for a particular product.
Note that, at the product level, you can only adjust the pricing based on the pricing method set in the product default settings, if a product default is used, or based on global settings, if no default is used.
For example, if using a product default and if fixed markup is set in the product default settings, you cannot specify tiered markup at the individual product level. Likewise, if you have single pricing set for a decoration process in the product default settings, you cannot specify a pricing table at the product level.
