When creating a quote or an order in DecoNetwork, there are situations where you may need to include an item that isn't predefined in your system. These items, known as free-form products, can encompass anything—from unique items to specialized services—that aren't typically part of your regular catalog.
Adding a free-form product provides flexibility and efficiency in your sales process. It allows you to swiftly include diverse items without the need to define them extensively within your catalog. This feature proves invaluable when handling bespoke requests, one-time purchases, or items that do not require permanent catalog inclusion. This capability empowers you to generate impressive quotes that are fully backed by a robust client management process to monitor and follow up on each quote.
In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps to add a free-form product to a quote or an order in DecoNetwork, ensuring you can handle any product request quickly and efficiently.
To add a free form product to a quote or order:
- Load Business Hub and create a new quote or order.
- Click on the Add Free Form Product button.
A free form line item is added.
- Click in each field of the line item to type a name, color, quantities by size, decoration description, and unit price for the product.
- Optionally, specify the package shipping dimensions for the product if you want the system to calculate the required shipping package sizes for live shipping methods.
- Click on the cog icon beside the line item and select shipping dimensions from the drop-down menu.
- Enter the package Weight, Width, Height, and Length for the product in the Dimensions popup.
- Click OK.
- Save the quote/order.
