Create a template design

A template design is a customizable design that lets you adjust elements like text, logos, font styles, and colors.

Using the Template Builder, you can create these custom designs by mixing existing graphics with extra text and effects. Customers can then edit text fields and make changes to the graphics when personalizing a product with the template. When you're building your template, you can move, resize, change colors, and add effects to various design components.

This tutorial will walk you through creating a simple design template in DecoNetwork's Template Builder, such as a school leaver's design. Watch the following animation to see how to create a template design. Read below for written instructions.

Prerequisites

• You must have administrator access to use this feature
• Knowledge of graphic design software principles required for using the template designer

To create a template design:

1. Log into your DecoNetwork Website.
2. Browse to Admin > Stock Designs.

   

   

3. Select Stock Designs List.
   
4. Click the Add Design button in the Breadcrumb & Action bar and click Create Template from the drop-down menu.
   

   The Template Builder app is loaded in the window.

5. Add text and graphic objects to build your template.
   • Click on the Add Image button to upload image objects from your device.
     
   • Click on the Add Text button to add text objects.
     

   Customize each object by changing the settings as necessary.

6. When done, click Save & Exit.
7. Configure the details of the design.

   • Name: Enter a name for the design.
   • Category: Select a category for the design from the dropdown list. If the category you want does not exist, you can add it by typing the category name in the text box
   • Allow customer to resize image: Tick this checkbox to allow customers to adjust the size of the image.
   • Price: Specify the price that customers will be charged for using the design. You can leave this field blank if you want the design to be free of charge.
8. Click Save.

   The template will be added to your Stock Designs List.
