Clone Store Settings

On this page, you can set a store as a template to be used as the starting point for newly created stores. This can save a significant amount of setup time on the initial deployment of new web stores (copy products, designs, and look & feel).

This page is also where you can go to clone a store. When cloning a store, you have the option of either taking control of the new site yourself or assigning ownership of the cloned site to a new 'store owner' if they wish to manage their own store.

Prerequisites

• You must have administrator access to use this feature
• This feature is only available on multi-store plans

To set a store as a template:

1. Log into your DecoNetwork website.
2. Browse to Admin > Websites > Manage [Website] > Administration > Clone Store Settings.

   

   

3. Tick the New stores can be created using this store's settings checkbox. This lets new stores that are created through methods other than cloning choose this website as a template for their new website.
   
4. Enter a name for the template, and click Save

To Clone a store:

1. Log into your DecoNetwork website.
2. Browse to Admin > Websites > Manage > Administration > Clone Store Settings.

   

   

3. Click Clone store.
   
4. Designate ownership of the new store as being managed by you or someone else.
5. Set up the administering account username and password, registration email address, and URL for the new site
6. When complete, click Save and the cloned site will be built.

   Do not close your browser while the store builds. Please be patient and wait for the status bar to report complete before moving on. This step may take some time depending on the depth and complexity of the site being cloned.

   Note, only the first 50 products will be cloned. This limitation is in place to ensure the security of the cloning process.
