The Shipping and Production configuration area lets you set the size and weight parameters of the product for freight purposes, and set the time required to produce the product.
Prerequisites
- You must have administrator access to use this feature
To Configure Shipping and Production:
- Log into your DecoNetwork Website.
- Browse to Admin > Products.
- Select a product to configure by either:
- Clicking on the product code.
- Clicking on the product name.
- Clicking on the Manage button beside the product you want to configure, then selecting Edit Product.
The product properties will be shown in the main work area, with a menu at the left to select property categories. General will be selected by default.
- Select Shipping & Production from the product properties menu.
The main work area contains the configuration options for shipping and production.
- Configure the settings as required.
- Package Dimensions lets you specify the length, height, and width of the package that will contain the product or products in their packed state.
- Products per Package configures how many of a given product will fit into the package size specified above. If more than one product is used in the package, tick More than one product fits into the above package, and specify how many fit into the package.
- Shipping gives you the option of either boxing multiple product packages (of the same product) together into a bigger box, or keeping the product packages shipped as separate items. DecoNetwork will attempt to place multiple packages into larger boxes using box sizes supplied by your shipping company. The default behavior (unchecked option) is to let DecoNetwork do your box calculations. Checking the option will ship the packages as separate items.
- Shipping Weight configures the weight of the product, using either the catalog weights (for products imported from catalog) or by specifying your own product weight. Specified weights may be implemented by either single weight, weight per size, or weight per SKU.
- Production sets the time taken to ship the product from receipt of payment. This figure is used to estimate a delivery date. You can choose to use the default number of days (15) or specify a custom value.
- Package Dimensions lets you specify the length, height, and width of the package that will contain the product or products in their packed state.
- Press Save or Save and Continue when done.
