Add Margins to DecoPay Credit Card Fees

To cover the costs of credit card processing and ensure profitability, you might want to add margins to DecoPay credit card fees. DecoNetwork allows you to configure surcharges to pass merchant processing fees on to customers. This tutorial guides you through the process of adding those margins to ensure that your business remains financially sustainable.

Prerequisites

• You must have administrator access to use this feature

To configure surcharges for DecoPay credit card fees:

1. Log into your DecoNetwork Website.
2. Browse to Admin > Settings.
3. Select Payment Methods.

   

   

   The Payment Methods page will be displayed.

4. Click on the Configure DecoPay button.

   The DecoPay configuration page will be displayed.

5. Click on Credit Cards from the sub-menu.
   

   The configuration settings for credit cards will be displayed.

6. Click on the Pricing And Limits tab.
   

   The Pricing and Limits settings will be displayed.

   The transaction prices and chargeback price are displayed in the DecoPay Pricing section at the top of the page for your reference.

   The transaction fees and chargeback fees are displayed in the DecoPay Pricing section for your reference.

7. Configure the surcharges for the transaction types that apply to your business.

   • Domestic Card Transaction Surcharge:

     • Surcharge applied to transactions made with cards issued by banks within the same country that your business operates in.

   • Premium Card Transaction Surcharge:

     • Surcharge for transactions made with premium credit cards.

   • European Economic Area Transaction Surcharge:

     • Surcharge for transactions made with a card from the European Economic Area (EEA).

   • International Card Transaction Surcharge:

     • Surcharge for transactions made using with credit or debit cards issued by banks outside your country of operation.

   For each transaction type, you can configure surcharges as a percentage of the transaction amount or a flat rate.

   • Tick the Percentage radio button to specify the surcharge as a percentage of the fee.
     
   • Tick the Flat Rate Fee radio button to specify the surcharge as a set price, regardless of the processing fee amount.
     

   For each premium cards, you can choose to only apply a surcharge for larger transactions by setting a minimum amount that must be exceeded before the surcharge will apply.

   • Percentage surcharge
     
   • Flat Rate surcharge
     

   The fees are included in the final amount of a customer order.

8. Optionally tick the Hide Surcharge Breakdown checkbox.
   

   This will show a breakdown of the credit card surcharges below the surcharge description.

   If the checkbox is unticked, the breakdown will be hidden and the surcharge amount will be included in the description.

9. Click Save.
