How to Enable Surcharges for Customers in DecoPay

When you use DecoPay for payment processing in Deconetwork, you have the option to enable surcharging, allowing you to pass on the processing fees associated with certain payment methods to your customers. This feature is helpful if you would prefer not to absorb the transaction costs. By configuring surcharges, the payment processing fees incurred on transactions will be added at checkout and your customers, not your business, will bear these costs. Use this feature to make certain that you maintain your profit margins while covering the operational expenses linked to payment transactions. Here's how you do it:

1. Log into your DecoNetwork Website.
2. Browse to Admin > Settings > Payment Methods.

   

   

   The Payment Methods page will be displayed.

3. Click on the Configure DecoPay button.

   The DecoPay configuration page will be displayed.

4. Select a payment method from the left menu.
5. Click on the Pricing and Limits tab.

6. Configure the surcharges as required.

   You can configure surcharges as a Percentage of the transaction amount or a Flat Rate.

   

   Before configuring surcharges, make sure they are compliant with any laws applicable to your business and region.

   • The transaction prices and chargeback prices will be listed at the top of the page.
   • When configuring credit card surcharges, you can configure surcharges for the following payment types: payments using a domestic card (Domestic Card Transaction Surcharge), payments using premium cards (Premium Card Transaction Surcharge), payments using a card from the European Economic Area (EEA Transaction Surcharge), and payments using an international card (International Card Transaction Surcharge).
     • By default, the domestic card transaction surcharge will be used for all other payment types.
       
     • The Hide Surcharge Breakdown setting lets you choose whether to show a breakdown of the credit card surcharges below the surcharge description or to hide the breakdown and include the surcharge amount in the description.
   • The fees are included in the final amount of a customer order.

7. Click Save.
