Managing your customer database efficiently is essential for keeping your business organized and running smoothly. Whether you’re cleaning up outdated accounts or dealing with duplicates, the ability to delete customers in bulk can save you significant time and effort.
In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the process of bulk-deleting customers. The bulk delete function helps streamline customer management by allowing you to remove multiple records at once, reducing the risk of clutter and ensuring your data stays relevant and up-to-date. This feature is especially useful for businesses with large customer lists, offering both convenience and efficiency, so you can focus on serving your active clients instead of maintaining outdated ones.
Prerequisites
Only users with Administrator, Sales Manager, or Sales Team roles can access the Customers page.
To delete customers in bulk:
- Log into your DecoNetwork website.
- Browse to Business Hub > Customers.
The main work area shows a list of all your existing customers.
Active customers are shown by default.
- Tick the checkboxes of the customers you want to delete.
- Click on Delete Selected Customers in the Customer Actions menu.
If you are not in the EU popup will be displayed confirming the number of customers to be deleted and asking you if you want to proceed.
If you are in the EU, the Delete Customer popup will be displayed, containing 2 options:
- Delete account: this will be a soft delete of the selected customer records, meaning the customer accounts can be reactivated. The deleted customer accounts will be moved to the Deleted customers list.
- Delete customer account and permanently remove all personal information...: this will permanently delete the selected customer accounts as well as remove all the customers' personal and shipping information from existing quotes and orders.
- Click OK.
If you are not in the EU or if you are in the EU and you chose the first delete option (soft delete) the selected customer accounts will be removed from the active Customer List, but the customers' personal information will still be available in any quotes and orders the customer has previously placed.
If you are in the EU and you chose to permanently delete the selected customer accounts, the accounts are deleted and all personal information will be removed from orders and quotes previously placed by those customers. You will not be able to undo this action.
