Why set up custom domain DNS records?
Configuring your DNS records allows your custom domain to point to your DecoNetwork website. This ensures both the root domain (example.com) and the www subdomain (www.example.com) load correctly, providing a professional, branded experience for your customers.
Record types you need
When setting up a root level domain, you'll need two DNS records so your domain will work both with www and without www added.
You would need the following DNS records:
| Record Type | Hostname | Value (Points-to) |
|---|---|---|
| A | @ | 65.39.250.34 |
| CNAME | www | dns.deco-apparel.com |
DNS Record for a one-off single subdomain:
When setting up a subdomain for a site, you'll need to add a single DNS record with your desired subdomain set as the hostname.
Using bobsyouruncle.mydomain.com as an example, you would need the following DNS records:
| Record Type | Hostname | Value (Points-to) |
|---|---|---|
| CNAME | bobsyouruncle | dns.deco-apparel.com |
DNS Record for global subdomains (wildcard):
When setting up a global store domain for your affiliate stores, you'll need to add a single wildcard DNS record (typically done by setting an asterisk as the hostname).
You would need the following DNS records:
| Record Type | Hostname | Value (Points-to) |
|---|---|---|
| CNAME | * | dns.deco-apparel.com |
