Prerequisites
- You must have an authenticator app (e.g. Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy) installed on your smartphone or device.
Why MFA Setup Matters
MFA significantly increases account security by requiring both a password and a time-sensitive authentication code. This prevents unauthorized access even if a password is compromised. Completing MFA setup ensures you can continue logging in safely and without interruption.
Step 1: Log In Normally
- Go to your DecoNetwork login page.
- Enter your username and password.
-
Click Login.
You will be redirected to the MFA setup screen if logging in for the first time.
Step 2: Set Up Your Authenticator App (First-Time Setup Only)
- Open your preferred Authenticator app (e.g. Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy).
- Scan the QR code displayed on screen, or manually enter the Setup Key if needed.
- Your authenticator app will begin generating 6-digit time-based codes.
-
Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app and click Login to complete login.
⚠️ The QR code and Setup Key are shown only once—complete the setup immediately.
Step 3: Log In With MFA on Future Sessions
Once MFA is set up, your future logins will follow this simple two-step process:
- Enter your username and password as usual.
- Enter the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app when prompted.
-
Click Login to access your account.
⚠️ You must have access to your Authenticator app each time you log in.
Troubleshooting
-
My code isn’t accepted
Time-based codes expire every 30 seconds. Ensure you are entering the current code. -
I lost access to my authenticator app
Contact your DecoNetwork administrator. They can reset your MFA setup. -
I never received a QR code
The code displays only during first-time setup. If you skipped it, ask an administrator to reset your MFA so you can start again.
FAQs
-
Can I use multiple devices for MFA?
Yes. Scan the QR code with multiple authenticator apps during initial setup. -
Can I switch to a different authenticator app later?
Yes. An administrator must reset your MFA so you can scan a new QR code. -
Does MFA affect my login on mobile browsers?
No – MFA works the same everywhere you log in.
