Whether you're running a promotion for new customers, offering seasonal discounts, or incentivizing repeat purchases, coupon codes give you flexible control over how and where discounts are applied.

Prerequisites

Why use coupon codes

Coupon codes help you attract new customers, increase conversions, and run targeted promotions without changing product pricing. By controlling usage limits, expiry dates, and store availability, you can tailor discounts to specific campaigns while maintaining profitability.

Step 1: Open the Coupon Codes section

1. Go to Admin → Marketing → Coupon Codes.

2. Click New Coupon.

Step 2: Configure coupon details

1. Enable the coupon so it can be used at checkout.
2. Enter a Coupon Code (for example, ABC123).
3. Add a Coupon Name to help you identify it internally (for example, New Customer).
4. Choose the Discount Type:
   • Percentage discount (e.g. 20%)
   • Fixed amount discount
5. Set an Expiry Date if the coupon is time-limited.
6. (Optional) Set a Minimum Order Value if required.

Step 3: Set usage limits

1. Set the total Number of uses to limit how many times the coupon can be redeemed overall.
2. Set Uses per user to restrict how many times an individual customer can use the coupon.

Step 4: Define product, shipping, and store availability

1. Under Product Availability, choose which products or product types the coupon applies to.

2. To apply the discount to shipping, simply enable Shipping.

3. Under Store Availability, select which stores can use the coupon:

   • Main store
   • Affiliate stores

Step 5: Save and promote your coupon

1. Review your settings to ensure the coupon is configured correctly.
2. Click Save.
3. Promote the coupon by letting customers know the code to enter at checkout.

• Use clear, memorable coupon codes to reduce checkout errors.
• Always set an expiry date for promotional campaigns.
• Limit usage for new-customer offers to prevent abuse.
• Test the coupon in a store before promoting it publicly.

Troubleshooting

The coupon code is not working at checkout

• Confirm the coupon is enabled in Admin → Marketing → Coupon Codes.
• Check that the coupon has not expired.
• Verify the customer has entered the code exactly as shown (coupon codes are case-sensitive).

The coupon cannot be applied to certain products

• Review the Product Availability settings and ensure the affected products or product types are included.

The coupon cannot be used in an affiliate store

• Check Store Availability and confirm the affiliate store is selected.

The coupon works once but not again

• Review the Number of uses setting to see if the limit has been reached.
• Check Limit per user. The customer may have already redeemed the coupon the specified number of times.

The discount is not applying to shipping

• Confirm that the Shipping option is enabled under coupon availability.
• Verify the order includes shippable items and valid shipping methods.

FAQs

Can a coupon be used across multiple affiliate stores?

Yes. Store availability allows you to choose exactly which stores can accept the coupon.

Do customers automatically see available coupons?

No. Customers must be told the coupon code and enter it manually during checkout.

Can a coupon apply to shipping only?
