Prerequisites
- Administrator access to your DecoNetwork account
- Custom font files available (TTF) if uploading printing fonts
Why manage fonts globally
Global Font Management lets you control which fonts are available in the Online Designer for staff and customers, based on how those fonts will be produced.
- Reduce decision fatigue by limiting unnecessary font choices
- Ensure fonts are suitable for printing or embroidery
- Set safe defaults for each decoration process
- Improve production efficiency and consistency
- Optionally allow specific affiliate sites to manage their own fonts
Step 1: Open Global Font Management
- Go to Admin → Websites → Global Designer Settings.
- Select Global Font Management.
- Choose whether you want to manage Printing Fonts (DTG, SUB, SCR, TRF, RHS, UV) or Embroidery Fonts.
Global Font Management lets you control fonts by decoration process.
Step 2: Manage printing fonts
Printing fonts are used for decoration processes such as screen printing, DTG, or vinyl.
- In one of the Printing Fonts tab, tick Manage Available Fonts.
- Enable or disable fonts as required.
- Set a default font for printing.
- To add a new font, upload a custom TTF file.
Step 3: Manage embroidery fonts
Embroidery fonts are based on pre-digitized formats and cannot be uploaded manually.
- Switch to the Embroidery Fonts tab.
- Enable or disable fonts as needed.
- Set a default embroidery font if required.
DecoNetwork includes a wide range of Wilcom embroidery fonts that are production-ready, so adding custom fonts is usually unnecessary.
Step 4: Restrict fonts for team names
You can limit which fonts are available when customers use the Team Name feature.
- Within font management, enable the option to restrict fonts for team names.
- Select fonts that are easy to cut, weed, or stitch.
This is especially useful when team names are produced using vinyl or other processes where clean, simple vector shapes are preferred.
Step 5: Allow sites to manage their own fonts (optional)
By default, fonts are managed globally. However, you can allow individual sites to control their own fonts.
- Under the Manage Available Fonts option, enable the option to allow site-level font management.
- Save your changes.
- Open an individual site and go to its Designer Settings.
The site will now have access to the same font management controls, including enabling, disabling, and uploading printing fonts.
Best-practice tips
- Keep font lists short to make customer decisions easier
- Disable fonts that are difficult to embroider or weed
- Set clear default fonts for each decoration process
- Restrict team name fonts to clean, legible styles
- Only allow site-level font control when absolutely necessary
Troubleshooting
- A font does not appear in the designer: Check that it is enabled for the correct decoration process.
- Customers see too many font options: Disable unused fonts or restrict team name fonts.
- An affiliate site cannot manage fonts: Confirm that site-level font management is enabled globally.
