Using a custom subdomain for affiliate websites is a powerful but often overlooked way to white-label your DecoNetwork stores. Instead of using a generic system-generated domain, you can launch affiliate sites under a domain you own – giving your clients a more professional, branded experience.

Prerequisites
- You own a domain name (for example, customshirts.org)
- You have access to your domain’s DNS provider (such as GoDaddy)
- You have Admin access in DecoNetwork
Why Use Global Store Subdomains
By default, newly launched DecoNetwork websites require a domain name, often using a system-generated address (for example, yourstore.deco-apparel.com). Global store subdomains allow you to replace that default with a branded domain you own.
- Create professional, white-labeled affiliate stores
- Use different domain suffixes for different client types
- Maintain consistency across all affiliate websites
- Improve trust and credibility with customers
Step 1: Add a Global Store Subdomain
- Go to Admin → Websites → Global Store Subdomains.
- Click Add Domain.
- Enter the domain name you own (for example, crazypetlove.com).
- Save the domain to generate the required DNS record.
Step 2: Add the A Record in Your DNS Provider
- Log in to your domain provider (for example, GoDaddy).
- Open the domain’s DNS Records.
- Add a new A record with:
-
Host / Name:
* - Value / IP Address: Use the IP provided in DecoNetwork
- TTL: 600
-
Host / Name:
- Save the record.
Step 3: Verify the Domain in DecoNetwork
- Return to Admin → Websites → Global Store Subdomains.
- Click Verify Domains.
- Confirm the domain shows as connected.
Once verified, you can launch new affiliate websites using this domain as the default subdomain suffix.
Step 4: Enable SSL (Secure HTTPS)
By default, newly connected subdomains are not secure. To enable HTTPS, you must request a free wildcard SSL certificate.
- In Global Store Subdomains, click your domain.
- Select SSL Certificate.
- Copy the provided CNAME record details.
- In your DNS provider, add a new CNAME record with:
-
Host / Name:
_acme-challenge - Value: The unique value provided by DecoNetwork
- TTL: 600
-
Host / Name:
- Save the record.
- Return to DecoNetwork and click Request Free Wildcard Certificate.
Best-Practice Tips
- Use different global subdomains for different client types (schools, businesses, teams).
- Keep TTL values low during setup to speed up DNS propagation.
- Avoid repeatedly clicking “Verify” or “Request Certificate” while DNS updates are processing.
- Name subdomains clearly to make affiliate site management easier.
Troubleshooting
- Domain validation fails: DNS records may not have propagated yet. Wait a few minutes and try again.
- SSL request fails: Confirm the CNAME record matches exactly, including underscores and values.
- Site not secure: Allow up to 15 minutes after SSL issuance for HTTPS to apply.
FAQs
Can I still use a fully custom domain like mybrand.com?
Yes. Custom domains can still be assigned per site, even when using global store subdomains.
How many global store subdomains can I add?
There is no limit – you can add as many domains as needed.
Does each domain require its own SSL record?
Yes. SSL records are unique per domain and must be added individually.
