Why meta titles and descriptions matter
When customers search online for products such as custom shirts, embroidered hats, or branded apparel, search engines use information from your website to decide which pages to show. Meta page titles and descriptions are among the first pieces of information search engines review, and they are often what customers see in search results.
- Improve search visibility: Help search engines understand the content of each page
- Increase click-throughs: Give potential customers a clearer reason to visit your site
- Set expectations: Describe what the page offers before the visitor clicks
- Support SEO efforts: Strengthen how your site is presented in search listings

Best-practice tips
- Write for both search engines and people: Use phrases that describe the page clearly and sound natural to customers.
- Keep titles focused: Make the title specific to the page topic instead of using a generic store description everywhere.
- Make descriptions useful: Summarize the page in a way that encourages clicks.
- Match the page content: Make sure the title and description accurately reflect what visitors will find on the page.
- Use AI for drafting: AI tools can help you write metadata faster, but review the wording so it fits your business and target audience.
- Be specific: Include details such as decoration type, product category, brand names, or selling points when relevant.
Troubleshooting
My page is not appearing as expected in search results
Search engines may take time to re-crawl and update your page information after you make changes. Make sure the page title and description accurately reflect the page content and give search engines time to index the update.
The same title or description appears on multiple pages
This can happen when only the default metadata has been configured. Open the individual page and add page-specific metadata in Advanced Settings → Meta Tags.
I’m not sure what to write for my meta description
Start with a short summary of the page, then include important details such as product type, decoration method, key benefits, or major brands. You can also use AI to draft ideas and then refine the final wording.
My meta settings do not seem to be saving
Make sure you click OK and Save after entering your changes. Then reopen the page settings to confirm the values were stored correctly.
FAQs
What is the difference between page metadata and default metadata?
Page metadata is entered for an individual page and is tailored to that page’s content. Default metadata is a general fallback used when a page does not have its own custom metadata.
Should every page have its own meta title and description?
Yes. Unique metadata gives search engines clearer information about each page and can improve how each page is presented in search results.
Can I use AI to write meta titles and descriptions?
Yes. AI can help you generate ideas quickly, but you should review and adjust the wording so it accurately reflects your business, products, and page content.
Are keywords still important?
Keywords can still be useful as part of your overall SEO strategy, but the page title and description are usually more visible and more directly connected to how your page appears in search results.
