Remove Decoration areas all together on business hub
Not plannedI think we should have total control of where artwork can go on the business hub side. I would like the ability (each deco license holder can choose if they want this) to remove all decoration areas on the business hub side only. This would allow us to put art where ever we want. As the printers, we know what is possible. We spend a lot of time re sizing and moving these areas to fit what we can do and I feel it takes more time than it should.
An example - embroidery does not let you scale the emb file much so if your decoration area says its 12in wide on a hat (which is wrong) then the 3in wide embroidery looks wrong. What I would like is we take that file and scale it on our end to look like 3in wide and we are done. It would really only make sense on the business hub side since our customers don't know the limitation for webstores.

100% agree, or at least get the scaling correct so we don't have to go into every item and change it. We use Deco primarily for order entry in our brick and motor locations, not online stores where we can limit the clothing options to a few dozen units.

We waste a lot of time in store having our designer adjust these boxes or adding them when catalog updates take place. Also, having to re add decoration types to certain areas. Get rid of em!

Updated thought, maybe still leave the option to designate a location for the Work sheet.

Just some initial feedback after reviewing this submission, this is a big paradigm shift to how the system works today so not likely to be considered seriously any time soon. Decoration areas are the basis for production file generation as they determine things like available processes, and more importantly physical dimensions which are used to determine the size/scale of the placed artwork and affect the output production files.
A workaround could be for you to add a full frame decoration area to product views where you need this functionality but you would still need to determine physical dimensions for that full frame area which would likely need to change from product to product since each product has a differently sized product image.
We are working on some improvements when making changes to decoration area dimensions on 8.6 which might help you spend less time making those adjustments.
