"Mother" products
Under ConsiderationCurrent problem:
- "Neutral" products (e.g., plain black t-shirts) are the same for multiple stores but are customized with specific designs.
- Currently, customized items are duplicated in the system, which causes inventory issues: the warehouse shows the total availability of neutral products but does not track already customized items or returns. This creates confusion and risks unnecessary orders.
Desired Solution:
- Implement a system where there is a "mother" neutral product (e.g., generic black t-shirt) used for supplier orders.
- Customized items for different stores become linked variants of the parent product, each with its own separately managed inventory.
- When a store sells a customized item, the system would first deduct stock from already decorated items and only then use neutral items for customization if needed.
Benefits of the Solution:
- Improved inventory control, avoiding duplication.
- More accurate and optimized ordering for neutral products.
- Reduced waste and increased efficiency in handling returns and ready-to-ship stock.
In summary, the "mother" neutral product would act as a shared base, while customized items would have independent inventory management closely tied to it.
Thank you in advance for considering this opportunity!
