Consolidate duplicates of the same decorated product into one single line

We have several affiliate stores set up as ordering portals or corporate clients. There's confusion currently both with our clients and also my production team, as each time a decorated product is added to the basket, it adds it onto a new line. Therefore, we can sometimes end up with orders which have 15 + lines of items, which in reality is just 4 different products. 

Ideally, Deco would recognise that the same items are being ordered and consolidate them into one line (assuming there are no variations on colour, design or custom fields of course).
