Upgrade Product Table Building Process in Support of the New Contract Pricing Feature
Under ConsiderationPlease consider upgrading the Product Table Building Process in Support of the New Contract Pricing Feature.
DPT = Decoration Price Table
I am ecstatic about the possibilities the Contract Pricing Levels Offer and like the way DN structured it.
One thought I have is that we are trading the need for duplicate products for the need for duplicate product tables. This is a way better challenge than managing duplicate products, but still somewhat tedious and time consuming.
The good news is I have a great idea for solving the tedious nature of making duplicate product tables more efficient!
High Level Business Process:
- Think in terms of Decoration Price Table Sets (DPT). One price table with several increase/discount levels.
- Set-up a Base Price Table. This price table could be the dealer/manufacturer cost to decorate an item.
- Duplicate the Base Cost Table to create a DPT to support a Contract Price Level
- Use a DPT Mark-Up Feature to mark-up the price table by a % or $ amount.
- Business Benefit: Eliminates the need to have a complicated spreadsheet with all of the pricing variables and then type each DPT in individually.
- Business Benefit: Simplifies/speeds up the process of updating a set of DPTs that can happen as frequently as 1-2 times per year.
- Business Benefit: Fast and nimble is always better!
Standard Level (great feature with or without contract pricing)
- Add Duplicate DPT Feature
- Add DPT Mark-up Feature at the table level by % or $ amount.
Premium/Enterprise Level
- Add Duplicate DPT Feature
- Add DPT Mark-up Feature at the table level by % or $ amount
- Add DPT Mark-up Feature at the row and column level by % or $ amount
