Completely agree! Will make our site building better if we can choose the color of the design based on shirt color. Otherwise, you are creating more work because the customer like to visually see the color of the design when they choose a white shirt vs a black shirt.

This should have done as soon as decorated product offering was an option. I was shocked when we first tried to create our decorated product. I didn’t know that it was possible not to be aware of this issue when creating such feature by deco. Many companies like us sell same design on light and dark garments using one color decoration or different colors decoration per color of the apparel. We have to create our decorated products in the back end as “blank” product process to be able offer this however this should be much easier and done on the decorated product level.

We are new to deco and didn't even think this would NOT be an option.  Shame on us for not doing our due diligence, even stahls spirtsale does this!!

I guess every platform has its issues...So what is the workaround?  create decorated products for each color shirt?

Oh please tell me there is another way... I will keep searching but this is the only post I found on this topic so far.

We have many schools that like to offer 3 different colors of shirts with the same design but it could require an ink change on one or more of the shirt colors.  I guess I could allow customers to change the design color but that could create other problems.   Phil thanks for suggesting the "blank" product process ... I will look into that.

EDIT: Phil was right.  We created a new custom blank product and uploaded decorated shirt images for each color shirt we offered.  Then we created a decorated product using this custom product as the base and uploaded a dummy PNG design file with one pixel in each corner of the design so we could still have the product go through production.  Not a great workaround but it works for now.  If you find this thread please vote for this feature so we can get a proper solution.

This Feature is a MUST and we are extremely disappointed that after a year and 21 upvotes this is still not something that has been implemented. This is truly a deal-breaker for us and creates so much extra work that it truly isn't worth the initiation money we will lose from canceling our subscription.

Not allowing this feature is a huge loss to all of your clients and was extremely disappointing. When we were sold on Deco over our current platform, Inksoft, we asked hours of questions. One being coloration of artwork. This was answered with yes, you can recolor artwork in the editor. Ok, fair, that's true, but with that we assumed that if you were changing the color of the artwork that it'd be for the reason of having color variants on garments. Bad on us for assuming, but honestly in this industry it's wild that this function wasn't thought of when building your pre-decorated products, or rushed into the tool once realized it was missing.

Unbelievable this is not a feature. For a platform that is as expensive (and in many ways outstanding) to make this such a difficult process is baffling. Please make this happen Deco Network. It shouldn't be this difficult to offer different colour artwork on a product.

This needs to be done for decorated products.  I don't know of any work-around currently other than creating separate products for each color which is so dumb.

Is there any plan to incorporate this into Deco Network?

I'd love for this to be an option too!

We came from Inksoft, where this is an option called "colorways." If you upload an .SVG file, you can pick out the separate colors/elements in the design and have it change color depending on the garment color selected. It was one of their selling features. We recently switched to Deco, but haven't cancelled inksoft. I love most everything else, but this is a huge drawback.

Commenting for traction. I'm with everyone else on this - we need this feature. It would save us on the admin side a ton of time, while also making the product pages look much cleaner for the customers by being 1:1 on products, not 2+ different product pages for the same product, just different color variations.

I have been waiting 3 years for this feature so YES more traction please!!  Deco is great but it seems like it will get you 90% of the way there and then drop you flat on your face for a lot of things!  I think it is about time to let us in on the secret of when this might be fixed.  Months? Years? We need some kind of timeline!  Others have found a workaround with custom code and we are looking into implementing that now but it will cost a lot and if changes are coming soon that could potentially break the workaround ... what do we do?  Sit and wait another 3 years?
