Company-Level Duplicate Customer Email Restriction
Under ConsiderationWe would like the ability to restrict duplicate customer account creation at the company level, while still retaining the flexibility to allow duplicates at the store level. In other words, once a customer email is associated with a company, the system should prevent another contact with the same email from being created under that same company — regardless of the store-wide setting.
This distinction is important to us because duplicate contacts at the company level have caused fulfillment errors, including a recent incident where an order was shipped to the wrong address due to a duplicate contact record, resulting in a $200 loss and an 8-box reship from San Diego to Bakersfield.
