Ability to flag customer emails in the system to not send
AnsweredIt would be helpful to be able to flag customers in the system to not send marketing emails, so that they are not included on export or they are tagged in the exported file. As it is right now I have to constantly clean the export. Here are the two scenarios:
1. the customer has requested that we not send them marketing emails. If you use mailchimp and the customer requests the removal through their system it remembers it, but if the customer calls or emails us, or if the email is sent outside of mailchimp there is no way to comply with their requests.
2. the email in the system in invalid, so the emails are constantly kicked back, which dings us on our outgoing server. There is no way to mark them in the system except to remove them and replace them with a fake email that will later be cleaned out when we export the list. If they are being sent for order or production they just keep bouncing.
There is an area in Account Details that says "Receive Marketing Messages" which doesn't seem to do anything. They are all marked as No. They should all be marked as yes when the account is created, with the ability to go in and unmark them.

Megan Robnett this is already possible using the Receive Marketing Messages option you mentioned.
- Customers with that option disabled are not exported through MailChimp or Zoho integrations as those are intended to be used for marketing purposes.
- This option exports to CSV under the newsletter column.
There is a setting under Admin > Settings > Customer Settings > Customer Fields > Edit (next to newsletter field) to make the field on by default however opting customers in to marketing emails without their permission is generally illegal in most regions.
