Being able to view what needs to be purchased without starting a PO

It would be FANTASTIC to be able to view what needs to be purchased from a vendor without having to "raise" a PO and then possibly forgetting to cancel the PO.  Couldn't there be a toggle like being able to see what order a particular item is attached to?
