Fedex Setup Guide

This guide provides instructions for setting up Live Shipping with FedEx on your DecoNetwork website. To get live shipping rates from FedEx, you must register for an account, Meter Number Key, and Password with FedEx and integrate the FedEx Web Services Application Program Interface (API) with your account.

Prerequisites

• You must have administrator access to use this feature

Steps

1. Register for a FedEx User ID and Account
2. Obtain a Production Key
3. Add the FedEx Live Shipping Carrier and Enter your FedEx credentials on your DecoNetwork Website

1 Register for a FedEx user ID and account:

1. Go to https://www.fedex.com/register/#/contact

   The contact details form is displayed.

2. Enter your contact information.

   Address suggestions will appear in a dropdown list in the Address field as you type. Upon selection, additional address fields will be shown and auto-filled with the relevant information.

   
3. Click on the Enter Login Details button.

   The screen to create a User ID is displayed.

4. You can choose to use the email address you entered as your user ID or create your own.
5. Enter a password and re-enter the password to confirm.
6. After reading the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, tick the "I have read" checkbox to verify that you have read and understood the terms of use and privacy policy. Optionally tick the checkbox to receive informational and promotional emails from FedEx.
7. Click on Create My User ID.

   The shipping account type page is displayed.

   
8. Select the type of shipping account you need - Personal or Business.
9. If you are an Australian customer, you will need to supply your ABN.
   
10. Untick the relevant checkboxes and enter your shipping and billing address if different from the contact address.
11. If you are an Australian customer, answer the questions about your shipping needs.
12. Click on Create Account.

    The Credit Card details form is displayed.

    
13. Enter your credit card details.
14. Click on the Submit button.

    Once you have successfully submitted your registration form, the confirmation page will be displayed. Your 9-digit FedEx shipping account number is created and displayed on the confirmation page.

2 Obtain a Production Key:

1. Log in to your FedEx account.
2. Go to the FedEx Web Services Page.
3. Click the Get Production Key tab.

4. Scroll down and click on the Get Production Key button.

   The Developer Resource Center Registration process will begin.

5. Accept the Terms and Conditions.

   The Application Profile screen is displayed.

6. Select "No" from the dropdown list in the first panel.
   
7. Tick the FedEx Web Services for Shipping checkbox in the second panel.
   
8. Select Corporate Developer from the dropdown box in the third panel.
   
9. Click Continue.

   The License Agreement screen is displayed.

10. Read the License Agreement and click "I Accept".

    The Contact Info screen is displayed.

11. Complete the form and click Continue.

    To find your account number, browse to Account > My Profile > Account Management.

    

    

    

    The Developer Info screen is displayed.

12. Provide the contact information of your developer if you are using one, otherwise, enter your own contact details.
13. Click Continue.

    The Confirmation screen is displayed.

    

    Note down the Authentication Key and Meter Number.

3 Add the FedEx Live Shipping Carrier and Enter your FedEx credentials on your DecoNetwork Website:

1. Log into your DecoNetwork Website.
2. Browse to Admin > Settings > Shipping.

   Select Shipping Methods.

   

   

   A list of your shipping methods will appear in a list on the Shipping Methods page.

3. Click the Manage Live Shipping Carriers button.

   The Live Shipping Carriers page is displayed with a list of your currently added live shipping carriers.

   
4. Click on the button.

   The Add Live Shipping Carrier page is displayed showing the available live shipping carriers for your region.

   
5. Click on the FedEx tile.
6. Click the Connect FedEx button in the Details popup.
   

   The Edit Live Shipping Carrier Credentials page is displayed.

   
7. Enter your credentials and account details for your FedEx account.
   
8. Click on Test settings to test the connection.

   A popup will be displayed to notify you if the connection was successful or not.

9. Choose the Rate Type:
   • Discounted: choose this rate type if you receive high-volume discounts on your FedEx account.
   • Base: choose this rate if you receive the base rate on your FedEx account.
10. Click Save.

    The Live Shipping Carriers page is displayed with FedEx added to the list of your currently added live shipping carriers.

    

    The Choose Methods button will only be enabled if you have successfully tested the connection with your credentials.

11. Click on the Choose Methods button for FedEx.

    The Edit Live Shipping Carrier Methods page is displayed.

    
12. Tick the checkbox for each of the FedEx shipping methods that you want to enable.
    
13. When done, click the Save button.
