When a customer uses a coupon in an affiliate store, is the discount deducted from the commission, or does it affect the fulfillment center's profit margin?
If you run affiliate stores, you may wonder who pays for the cost of coupon discounts. If a customer uses a coupon code assigned to one of your affiliates when making a purchase, the affiliate still gets a percentage of the sale. Commission amounts will remain the same on orders that have used a coupon as commissions are calculated on the full original retail price. Since coupon discounts are applied after the commission is calculated and the fulfillment center's earnings are calculated after discounts are applied, the fulfillment center will bear the cost of the discount.
