In this tutorial, we will walk you through the step-by-step process of enabling a customer as an account holder and configuring their credit limit within DecoNetwork's Business Hub. By designating a customer as an account holder with a credit limit, you empower them to place orders on credit, offering flexibility in payment terms and enhancing their purchasing experience with your business.
Setting up account holders with credit limits is particularly beneficial for fostering long-term relationships with valued customers. It allows them to manage cash flow more effectively by deferring immediate payments while ensuring you receive timely compensation within the agreed-upon limits.
Set a customer as an account holder and set a credit limit
- Log into your DecoNetwork website.
- Browse to Business Hub > Customers.
- Click view to open a customer account you want to edit.
- Click on Edit Account Details next to the Account Details section heading.
The Edit Account Details popup will be displayed.
- Tick the Customer Is Account Holder checkbox to set pre-defined account terms of payment for the customer. When the checkbox is ticked the following settings will be available:
- Default Terms: lets you select the payment terms that will be applied to the customer for all web store orders (when paying on account). The terms define how and when the customer is expected to pay for their purchases.
- Max. outstanding balance allowed online: lets you specify the maximum outstanding balance the customer can have whilst placing web store orders. This does not affect Business Hub orders as it is assumed the operator creating the order through Business Hub can manage the maximum outstanding amount manually.
- Select a default term from the Default Terms dropdown list.
- Enter the desired credit amount in the Max. outstanding balance allowed online field.
This is the amount the customer can use to place orders without immediate payment.
- Click OK.
The Account Details section will be updated to show the new setting, including Default terms and Online Balance Limit.
