The Stock Designs List allows you to manage the stock designs in your Fulfillment Center that are made available to your Affiliate web stores.
Stock designs may be either added from built-in stock design collections (see the article, Stock Design Collections, for details), created in the Template Builder, or created yourself in 3rd party software and imported into DecoNetwork.
This article describes how you can view, categorize and sort stock designs once they have been added to your Fulfillment Center.
Prerequisites
- You must have administrator access to use this feature
Managing Stock Designs
- Log into your DecoNetwork Website.
- Browse to Admin > Stock Designs.
- Select Stock Designs List.
The work area will display a list of categories at the left, a search bar at the top, and a list of stock designs that are presently in your DecoNetwork. The Breadcrumb and Action Bar contains a drop-down menu named Add Design and a Sort button, allowing you to add new and sort existing designs. You can manage categories using the buttons above the category tree. The search bar allows you to search for particular designs.
- Manage your stock designs as required.
Categories
You may add, delete and rename existing categories by clicking the appropriate button above the tree view.
- Add will display the Add Category popup allowing you to define and configure a new category. Once created, the new category is added to the bottom of the list of categories (or sub-category, if it is selected).
The configuration settings in the Add Category are similar to those in the Edit Category popup.
- Delete will remove the category. For this to succeed you must first delete or move designs out of that category. A design's category is specified on the design's configuration page. (See Configure a stock design for details).
- Edit will let you edit the category name and description. It will also let you specify a unique meta title, keyword, and description tag for the category. Clicking on the Edit button will load the Edit Category popup. The popup will contain two tabs; Category Details and Meta Tags.
Category Details
- Category title/Name lets you specify the category name.
- Category Description lets you write a description for the category using a rich text editor. The description will be displayed on the page for this category in the online store.
- thumbnail lets you set the thumbnail to use to represent the category in the storefront
- use first in category select this option to use the first stock design thumbnail in the category to represent the category.
- use custom thumbnail select this option to upload a custom thumbnail to represent the category. Click on Select image to load the file upload popup to upload an image file for the thumbnail.
Meta Tags
Meta tags are snippets of text that provide information to search engines about the content of a page. The meta tags do not appear on the page itself, but only in the page's code.
- Use name as page title, when ticked, will use the category name as the title for this category's page in the online store.
- Create custom page title will allow you to enter a different name for the category page if the "Use name as page title" checkbox is un-ticked.
- Meta Keywords are used by some search engines to identify the topic and content of a page. Enter the keywords that you want the category to be searchable by in this field.
- Meta Description will appear in the preview of most search results and provide potential visitors with a short description of your stock design category page. Enter the description that you want to be displayed in the search results for this category's page.
- Meta Index lets you choose whether or not you want search engines to include the page for the selected category in search results.
- Use page default will use the default indexing option for the Designs page. The default is set via the Website Editor under Advanced Settings > Meta Tags.
- Allow search engines to index this category will allow search engines to discover this category page and store information from the page within an organized database called an index. When indexed, the category page will be returned in the search results if the content on the page is relevant to the search topic.
- Prevent search engines from indexing this category will cause a "noindex" meta tag to be included in the HTML code for the category page to prevent the category page from appearing in the search engine's search results.
Noindex is useful for preventing duplicate content in category pages from coming up in the search results for your site.
- Dragging and dropping a category will move it to a new location within your category structure.
The Stock Design List
The stock design list shows the thumbnail image, name, category, and image type of existing designs. The price for using the design and the decoration processes a design can be used in are also shown.
If a design was added from a stock design collection, the name of the collection is listed. (To add designs from collections browse to Admin > Stock Designs > Stock Design Collections).
The Show designs in sub categories checkbox, when ticked, will show the designs contained within all the sub-categories as well as the main category when a main category is selected. Leaving the Show designs in sub categories checkbox ticked will allow you to sort the designs globally across all categories. Un-ticking the Show designs in sub categories checkbox will allow you to sort within each individual category.
You can search for designs using the Search box above the list.
Clicking Manage against a design presents you with some options depending on whether the design is a raster design or a template and whether it is a design imported from stock design collections or whether it is your own design.
- Configure lets you view basic details about the design, including name, image type, and color information, configure decoration processes for the design and, if the design is your own, you can specify meta information for the design. Configure will be available for all designs. (See the article, Configure a stock design, for more information on configuring a design).
- Edit Template will launch the Template Builder if the design is a template design that you have created yourself. Only templates that you create can be edited. Designs from stock design collections are NOT editable. However, they can be customized by the customer in the template's permitted areas - such as names and numbers - as defined by the template itself. (See the article, Create a template design, for more information on using the Template Builder).
- Delete will remove the design from the Stock Designs List. Designs from stock design collections cannot be deleted. To remove a design from a collection, you must remove the collection in its entirety.
Add Design Menu Button
The Add Design button in the Breadcrumb & Action bar opens a drop-down menu containing three options for adding stock designs.
- Upload design lets you upload a single design to the stock designs list. (See the article, Upload an individual design, for details).
- Create Template will launch the Template Builder allowing you to create a template design. (See the article, Create a template design, for details on using the Template Builder).
- Upload multiple designs lets you upload multiple designs in bulk. (See the article, Batch upload designs, for details).
Sort Button
Clicking Sort will open the Sort screen, which allows you to manually re-arrange the display order of your stock designs within each category.
Use the arrow buttons to move a design up or down. The arrow button with a line above will move a design to the beginning of the stock designs list. The up arrow button will move a design up one place. The down arrow button will move a design down one place. The arrow button with a line below will move a design to the end of the stock design list. Clicking and holding down the button with both up and down arrows allows you to drag a design to a different position in the list.
- Add will display the Add Category popup allowing you to define and configure a new category. Once created, the new category is added to the bottom of the list of categories (or sub-category, if it is selected).
