Prerequisites
- You must have one of these permissions: Administrator, Production Manager or Shipping
- You must have a valid USPS or Stamps account
- You must have live shipping configured for USPS and/or Stamps.com in DecoNetwork. (See Connect with USPS for live shipping estimates or Connect with Stamps.com for live shipping estimates for instructions on how to set up the live shipping methods).
Why
Printing live shipping labels through USPS and/or Stamps.com directly from DecoNetwork enables you to:
- Save time by skipping manual entry of shipping addresses and tracking numbers.
- Improve accuracy by automatically pulling order data, carrier rates and generating labels with tracking codes.
- Provide a better customer experience by promptly sending notifications and labels.
- Streamline your fulfilment workflow by managing everything in one place (Business Hub → Shipping).
How to print live shipping labels
- Log into your DecoNetwork Website.
- Browse to Business Hub > Shipping.
-
Click view next to the order for which you want to generate a live shipping label.

-
Click the Record Shipment button.

-
In the Record Shipment popup:
- Click Get Rates (to get the latest shipping rates).
- Select the shipping method of your carrier (USPS or Stamps.com).
- Tick the Live Postage Payment checkbox (This will enable you to purchase postage and print the shipping label with the tracking number automatically populated at the next step).
- Click OK in the Record Shipment popup.
-
If you ticked the Send a notification email to the Customer checkbox, click OK in the Email Shipment to Customer popup.
-
Tick the checkbox of the shipment you have just created.
-
Click on the Shipping Label button.
-
Select Print from the dropdown list.
Depending on your browser settings, the shipping label will be immediately downloaded to the default download location or you will be prompted to choose a download location.
You will receive a shipping label similar to the one shown below (this example is using Stamps.com USPS shipping label).
- Print the label as needed.
Best-Practice Tips
- Ensure your browser’s pop-ups/downloads are configured so the shipping label file isn’t blocked or lost.
- Always verify the shipping method and rate before clicking **Get Rates**, especially if you use multiple carriers or international shipments.
- Enable the “Send a notification email to the Customer” checkbox to keep customers informed and reduce support enquiries.
- If you regularly ship with the same carrier and service, consider saving a shipping method preset for faster workflow.
- Track usage of live-shipping labels to control postage costs and identify bottlenecks in the fulfilment process.
Troubleshooting
- If the **Live Postage Payment** checkbox is not available:
- Check whether your Stamps.com account is active and synced in DecoNetwork.
- Verify that live shipping is enabled for the shipping method used.
- If the **Print** option doesn’t download the label:
- Make sure your browser isn’t blocking file downloads from the site.
- Try opening the browser’s download folder or check if a “blocked download” notification appears.
- If you intended to use direct USPS integration but the live-label feature isn’t available: recall that the label functionality requires the Stamps.com integration.
FAQs
- Can I use my direct USPS account instead of Stamps.com? No. To generate live shipping labels using DecoNetwork you must use the Stamps.com integration rather than direct USPS.
- What happens if I don’t click “Get Rates”? If you skip retrieving the latest carrier rates, the shipping method/price may default to a stored rate and could cause a mismatch or manual-adjustment requirement.
-
Can I print live shipping labels for carriers other than USPS or Stamps.com?
Not at this time. Live-shipping label generation is currently supported only for USPS and Stamps.com. Other carriers can still be used for quoting or manual workflows, but DecoNetwork cannot purchase postage or print live labels for them.
