Set up COD payment and shipping methods

COD, short for cash on delivery, is a transaction where the customer pays for the order once they have received it. DecoNetwork allows you to configure payment methods and shipping methods to accept COD payment.

To configure a COD payment method

1. Log into your DecoNetwork Website.
2. Browse to Admin > Settings.
3. Select Payment Methods.

   

   

   The main work area will display your currently selected payment gateway in the top panel, currently configured alternative payment methods in the next panel, followed by available credit cards, and currently configured manual payment methods in the bottom panel.

   
4. Scroll down to the manual payment methods section at the bottom of the Payment Methods page.
   
5. Click on the New Payment Method button.
6. Configure the payment method.

   General

   
   • Name your payment method.
   • Cash on Delivery/Pickup tick this checkbox to define the payment method as being a cash-on-delivery (COD) method.
   • Description is displayed when a customer selects the payment method during the checkout process.
   • Instructions are displayed to the customer at the checkout confirmation stage and also sent to them in the order confirmation.
7. Configure the rest of the payment method settings. Read the Add a manual payment method help article for information about each settings.
8. When done, click the Save button.

To configure a COD shipping method

1. Log into your DecoNetwork Website.
2. Browse to Admin > Settings > Shipping.

   Select Shipping Methods.

   

   

   A list of your configured shipping methods will appear in a list.

   
3. Click on the button.

   The shipping method configuration page will be displayed.

   
4. Configure the shipping method settings. Read the Shipping Methods help article for information about each settings.
5. Scroll down to the Markup section.
   
6. Tick the This is a COD shipping method checkbox.
   

   This defines the shipping method as being payment on delivery.

7. Enter a message in the COD payment page message text box to provide COD details on the payment page.
8. Enter instructions in the COD instructions text box to provide additional instructions for COD on the order page and email.
9. When done, click the Save button.
