This article describes how to mark individual order items as shipped from the Production tab of an order in Business Hub. This workflow is designed for processing orders one at a time and offers precise control over shipping as production progresses.
When an order item is marked as shipped, DecoNetwork records a shipment for the selected items, updates the order’s shipping status, and, if shipping notifications are enabled, automatically sends the customer the relevant shipping and tracking information. This makes it possible to ship orders in stages as items are completed.
For bulk shipping operations, orders can be marked as shipped from the Shipping page. This workflow is covered in a separate Help Center article.

Why Use the Production Tab for Individual Orders
The Production tab within an individual order is designed for hands-on operational workflows where items are completed and dispatched as production progresses.
- Allows items to be shipped as they are completed.
- Supports partial and staged shipments for a single order.
- Provides precise control when handling orders one at a time.

How Shipments Are Recorded
Each time items are marked as shipped from the Production tab, a shipment record is created for those items.
- Multiple shipments can be recorded for a single order.
- Each shipment reflects only the items selected at the time.
- Shipments can be recorded independently as production completes.
Orders with Dividers and Partial Shipments
Orders that include divider lines or multiple production segments are fully supported when shipping from the Production tab of an individual order.
- Divider lines do not prevent items from being shipped.
- Items can be shipped independently across different segments.
- Each shipment is recorded accurately for the selected items.
Notifications and Order Status Updates
The order status updates automatically for items as shipments are recorded and progresses as additional items are shipped.
Best-Practice Tips
- Ship items as they complete production rather than waiting for the entire order.
- Double-check selected items before confirming shipment.
- If you are shipping many orders at once, use the Shipping page or the Production page bulk workflows instead of shipping from within individual orders.
- Confirm shipping notifications are configured correctly if customers rely on tracking emails.
FAQs
-
The items I selected can’t be marked as shipped
- Confirm the items are at a stage where they can be dispatched (for example, they may need to be produced/ready before shipping is allowed).
- Check whether the items have already been shipped in a prior shipment.
Troubleshooting
-
Items were marked as shipped but no shipment appears:
- Confirm you are working within an individual order.
- Ensure the action was performed from the Production tab.
-
The order still doesn’t show as fully shipped
- This is expected when only some items were shipped. The order will reflect partial shipping until all remaining items are shipped.
- Review the Production tab and confirm which items remain unshipped.
- If you intended to ship everything, ensure all shippable lines were selected before marking as shipped.
-
The customer didn’t receive a shipped email
- First confirm a shipment was actually recorded for the selected items.
- Verify shipped notifications are enabled for the fulfillment center and the customer’s email address is valid on the order.
- Keep in mind customers may receive multiple shipped emails when orders are shipped in stages.
