Store designs allow you to control which artwork is available when creating pre-decorated products and when customers are selecting designs in your online store. By adding designs at the website (store) level, you can manage visibility, ordering, decoration compatibility, and search behavior without exposing your entire stock design library.

Prerequisites
- Administrator access to the website
- An active website in DecoNetwork
- Artwork files ready for upload (vector, raster, or embroidery)
Why use store designs
Store designs give you fine-grained control over which artwork appears on a specific website. This is especially important when creating pre-decorated products or guiding customers through a design-first ordering workflow.
- Limit design visibility to a specific website
- Mix finished artwork with site-specific designs
- Control which decoration processes can be used
- Improve customer experience by simplifying design selection
- Optimize design search using metadata
Step 1: Access store designs
- Go to Websites and open the website you want to update.
- Select Store Designs.
Step 2: Add a design to the store
When adding a store design, you have three main options:
- Add a stock design – reuse artwork already uploaded in Stock Designs so it behaves like a store-specific design.
- Create a design template – launches the Template Builder (best done in Stock Designs if you want to reuse it across multiple websites).
- Upload a design for this site – the most common approach for site-specific artwork.
Step 3: Configure design settings
After uploading a design, configure how it behaves in the design tool and throughout the site.
File type considerations
- Vector files allow color changes in the design tool.
- EMB files are recommended for embroidery so the design can be used directly as a decoration.
Design options
- Assign a category (e.g. Logos)
- Allow customers to change image colors (vector only)
- Control list position (top or bottom)
- Select which decoration processes can be used
Metadata and overrides
Configure meta information so designs appear correctly in search results. You can also apply process overrides and discontinue designs when needed.
Background handling
- Automatic background detection
- Force white or black backgrounds
- Specify custom background behavior
Step 4: Manage and sort designs
Once designs are uploaded, you can further control how they appear to customers.
- Apply a watermark to designs if required
- Use Sort/Categorize to control display order
Best-practice tips
- Upload vectors whenever possible for maximum flexibility
- Create reusable templates in Stock Designs, not inside individual websites
- Limit visible designs to reduce customer decision fatigue
- Use categories and metadata to improve design search accuracy
- Order designs strategically to highlight best-selling artwork
Troubleshooting
My design colors can’t be edited
Color editing is only available for vector files. Raster images (PNG, JPG) do not support color changes in the design tool.
A design doesn’t appear on the website
Check that the design is not discontinued, is assigned to the correct decoration processes, and is positioned appropriately in the list order.
I can’t reuse a template on another site
Templates created within a website are site-specific. Create templates in Stock Designs to reuse them across multiple websites.
FAQs
What’s the difference between stock designs and store designs?
Stock designs are global, while store designs give you control over which artwork appears on a specific website.
Can customers edit store designs?
Yes, if editing is enabled and the design format supports it (e.g. vectors).
Can I remove a design without deleting it?
Yes. You can discontinue a design to hide it while keeping it available internally.
