Question
Q: I uploaded a PNG design with a transparent background, but it now shows with a black or white background in DecoNetwork. Why is this happening?
Answer
This happens when the PNG file is not exported with proper transparency settings. Even though the file may appear transparent in your graphics program, the way it is saved determines whether transparency is preserved when uploaded.
Common reasons include:
- The design was exported as PNG-8 instead of PNG-24.
- Transparency was not enabled during export.
- A background layer was accidentally included or flattened.
How to Fix It
- Open your design file in Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or your preferred editor.
- Remove or hide any background layers before export.
- Export the design as PNG-24 with transparency enabled.
- In Photoshop:
File → Export → Export As → PNG → Transparency (checked) - In Illustrator:
File → Export → Export As → PNG (Transparent background)
- In Photoshop:
- Re-upload the corrected file to DecoNetwork.
Properly exported PNGs will keep their transparent backgrounds and display correctly on products.
In summary: If your designs lose transparency after upload, the issue is caused by export settings in your graphics program. Re-export as PNG-24 with transparency enabled and upload again.
