The Direct-to-Garment (DTG) decoration process in DecoNetwork is designed to be quick and simple to configure. In most cases, you only need to configure the general process settings, create a pricing table, and assign that pricing table to your pricing levels. Default settings for features such as designer options, production settings, and artwork handling are suitable for most DTG workflows, but can be customized if required.

Prerequisites
- You must have Administrator access.
- The DTG decoration process must be enabled.
- You should understand how your business charges for DTG printing before creating pricing tables.
Why Configure the DTG Decoration Process?
Correctly configuring your DTG decoration process ensures customers receive accurate pricing while keeping setup simple for your production team. By configuring the appropriate pricing table and assigning it to your pricing levels, DecoNetwork can automatically calculate decoration charges based on your preferred pricing model. Use the configuration settings to:
- Configure how DTG appears throughout the system.
- Control minimum order quantities.
- Define supported artwork formats.
- Create pricing based on garment color, print size, or both.
- Automatically apply the correct decoration pricing during quoting and ordering.
Step 1: Configure General Settings
- Go to Admin → Decoration Processes.
- Select the DTG Printing decoration process.
- Open the General Settings tab.
- Configure the following options:
- Name - The display name of the decoration process.
- Abbreviation - A shortened identifier used throughout the system.
- Minimum quantity - The smallest order quantity allowed for DTG.
-
Artwork Capabilities and Formats - Configure the artwork formats and limitations you want to support, including:
- Accepted artwork types (Vector and/or Raster)
- Color limitations, if required
- Save your changes.

Step 2: Create a DTG Price Table
DTG pricing is typically based on one or more of the following:
- Garment color (to account for white underbase and pretreatment)
- Print size
- A combination of garment color and print size
- Select the Price Tables tab.
- Create a new price table.
- Select the pricing configuration that best matches your business.
For most DTG shops, the Standard pricing configuration is the most commonly used because labor is generally the same regardless of decoration size. The primary cost difference is usually the garment color, as darker garments require a white underbase and additional pretreatment.
When configuring garment color pricing:
- Set the same price for Light and Dark garments if they are intended to represent all colored garments.
- Use a separate price for White garments if they cost less to produce.
You can also configure:
- Quantity price breaks (for example 1–5, 6–11, 12–23, 24+).
- Additional decoration area discounts.
- A single price row if additional decoration locations should not receive a discount.

Step 3: Assign the Price Table to Pricing Levels
Creating a price table does not automatically make it active. You must assign it to the pricing levels that should use it.
- Open the Decoration Pricing section.
- Select Advanced Pricing in the Pricing Mode section.
- Choose Price Table from the Pricing Method dropdown.
- Choose the DTG price table you created from the Pricing Table dropdown.
- Save your changes.
Assign the DTG price table to the appropriate pricing levels
Best Practice Tips
- Use the Standard pricing configuration unless your pricing model requires print-size pricing.
- Account for the additional cost of printing on colored garments by configuring garment color pricing.
- Review quantity price breaks to ensure they match your production costs.
- Only configure advanced settings such as Designer Settings, Production Settings, color Palette, or Artwork Fees if your workflow requires custom behavior.
- Always verify that your price table has been assigned to the appropriate pricing levels before testing your storefront.
Troubleshooting
My DTG pricing is not being used.
Check that the price table has been assigned under Decoration Pricing. Creating a price table alone does not activate it.
Customers are being charged the wrong amount.
Review the quantity breaks, garment color pricing, and any additional decoration area discounts configured in the price table.
I don't need different pricing for additional decoration locations.
Use a single pricing row so every decoration location uses the same decoration charge.
FAQs
Do I need to configure Designer Settings for DTG?
Not usually. The default Designer Settings are suitable for most DTG workflows, although they can be customized if needed.
Do I need Production Settings?
Most DTG shops can use the default Production Settings. Configure them only if your workflow has specific production requirements.
Can I charge differently for white and colored garments?
Yes. DTG price tables can differentiate pricing based on garment color to account for white underbase and pretreatment costs.
Can I price based on print size?
Yes. DTG price tables support pricing based on print size, garment color, or a combination of both.
