GST Inclusive Pricing + Admin Areas (AU/NZ Users)
Under ConsiderationHi team,
I originally raised this around 2 years ago, and wanted to revisit it.
Over here, pricing is almost always GST inclusive, and as Deco is growing more in Australia and New Zealand, this is becoming more noticeable in day-to-day use.
Right now we have to:
- Manually remove GST (divide by 1.15) before entering prices
- Or deal with GST being added on top
This slows things down and makes it harder to just enter a final price we’ve agreed on with a customer.
It’s also not just storefront pricing, this affects a lot of the admin side too, like:
- Decoration pricing
- Bulk pricing
- Production costs
- Quotes / manual orders
So the whole workflow ends up being slower and more prone to small errors, especially when multiple staff are involved.
Another thing is GST being calculated per line item, we often get small rounding differences (a few cents here and there), which can make invoices look a bit messy.

Example (Current vs Ideal)
Current:
Customer agrees to pay $100 total (GST inclusive)-
We calculate: $100 ÷ 1.15 = $86.96
-
Enter $86.96 → Deco adds GST → Total = $100
Ideal:
Customer agrees to pay $100 total (GST inclusive)-
Enter: $100
-
Toggle: GST Inclusive ON
-
Deco auto splits:
-
$86.96 + $13.04 GST = $100
-
Bonus
-
GST calculated on full order total instead of per line
→ cleaner totals, no rounding issues
