This guide shows DecoNetwork Fulfillment Centers how to map Shopify products and designs on incoming orders so the correct blank product variants and artwork are applied in production. You’ll work in Admin → Websites → Manage → Fulfill Shopify Orders, choose the matching blank product, then set the design area, process, and artwork for each order. Use this after your Shopify integration is configured and orders are appearing in the Fulfill Shopify Orders queue.

Prerequisites
- Your Shopify ↔️ DecoNetwork integration is configured and connected.
- Orders are appearing under Admin → Websites → Manage → Store menu → Fulfill Shopify Orders → Orders.
- You have permission to manage orders in the target store.
- Blank products you plan to map against are available in DN (with correct sizes and colors).
- Design files (artwork) you intend to map are available to upload or already uploaded.
Why map products & designs?
Mapping ensures that each Shopify line item corresponds to the correct DecoNetwork blank product (including variant sizing and color), and that the right design is applied in the expected decoration area and process. Done correctly, this:
- Prevents variant mismatches and production stalls.
- Speeds order handling by removing guesswork for staff.
- Improves accuracy and reduces rework by locking the intended design/area.
- Keeps Shopify fulfillment flowing smoothly into production or quote approval (per your DN workflow settings).
Step 1: Open Fulfill Shopify Orders
- Log into your DecoNetwork website.
- Browse to Admin > Websites.
- Click on the Manage button beside the store you want to fulfill orders in.
- Select FulFill Shopify Orders from the Store menu.
The Fulfill Shopify Orders page is loaded in the work area.
Step 2: Open the order
- Click on the Orders tab.
- Click on the order number of the order you wish to map.
Step 3: Match the blank product
- Click on the Match Product command in the View Order popup.
The Match Product popup appears containing the matching options for the product.
- Click on the Select Blank Product box.
The Select Product popup appears.
- Search for the matching product and click on it to select it.
The variants of the Shopify product are matched with the variants of the selected blank product.
Step 4: Configure design area, process & artwork
- Click on the Designs tab to access the design matching options.
- Area: Lets you choose where the design will be positioned; Body, Left Chest, or Right Chest.
- Process: Lets you choose the default decoration process.
- Design: Lets you to decide if the mapped product will include a design. If it does, you can then select the design to apply.
- Click on the Area field and choose the area where the design will be placed.
- Click on the Design field and choose Select/Upload Image from the dropdown list.
- Click on the Select Image command that appears.
The Select Image popup loads.
- Select an already uploaded design or click on the Upload button to search for the design on your device.
- Click OK once you have uploaded and selected the design to be mapped.
The design is placed on the product in the selected area.
Step 5: Position and confirm
- You can choose the position of the design and adjust its size.
- Adjust the Area, Process, Position and Size as necessary.
- Click OK in the Match Product popup.
- Click OK in the View Order popup.
Best-Practice Tips
- Match variants exactly: Align Shopify option names (sizes/colors) with DN product variants to avoid unmapped items.
- Standardize color naming: Use consistent color labels between Shopify and DN to maximize auto-matching.
- Keep artwork organized: Maintain a folder structure and naming convention for designs so staff can quickly find the right file.
- Lock your process choices: Choose the decoration process that reflects actual production to reduce mid-job changes.
Troubleshooting
- Some variants won’t map: Check for color/size naming mismatches between Shopify and DN. Add missing colors to the DN product only if they are truly available for that item.
- Can’t add multiple areas on a view: The Shopify integration limits mapping to one decoration area per product view. Consider separate views or adjust your catalog strategy if multi-area mapping is essential.
- Design not showing after upload: Confirm the artwork was selected after upload and that you clicked OK in both popups to save the mapping.
FAQs
-
Do I need to re-map for every order?
Not always. If you standardize products and design usage, many orders will map quickly. However, new products, unusual variants, or custom artwork will require mapping steps. -
What if Shopify’s color list doesn’t match my DN product?
Map to the closest available color or add the missing colors to the DN blank product if they’re truly offered by the supplier for that product. -
Can I map different designs to multiple areas on the same product view?
Not within the Shopify integration. It supports one decoration area per product view.
