When setting up your Shopify store, you have the option to choose between automatic or manual fulfillment for your orders. This tutorial will guide you through configuring both options to suit your store's needs.
Understanding Order Fulfillment with DecoNetwork
When using DecoNetwork (DN) as your fulfillment platform, the fulfillment process involves transferring orders from Shopify to the DN platform, where they are managed, produced, and shipped. Depending on your needs, you can set up orders to be sent to DN automatically after payment or manually review them before submitting them for fulfillment.
- Automatic Fulfillment: Orders are automatically sent to DN for fulfillment as soon as they are paid in Shopify.
- Manual Fulfillment: Orders are held in a pending state until you manually review them and push them to DN for fulfillment.
To Configure Automatic or Manual Fulfillment in Shopify:
- Log in to your Shopify Admin.
- Click on Settings in the bottom-left corner of the admin dashboard.
- Select General.
The General settings for your Shopify store will be displayed.
- Scroll down the Order Processing section.
- Under the After an order has been paid setting, choose the fulfillment method:
-
Automatic Fulfillment:
- Select Automatically fulfill the order's line items.
- Shopify will automatically mark the order fulfillment status as "In progress" and send it to DN for processing as soon as the payment is received.
- If you want customers to receive a notification when their order is fulfilled, check Notify customers of their shipment via email.
-
Manual Fulfillment:
- Select Do not automatically fulfill any of the order's line items.
- This option allows you to manually review the order in Shopify and then push it to DN.
For instructions on how to manually submit an order to DN, refer to the article titled "Request Order Fulfillment by a DecoNetwork Store in Shopify".
