Prerequisites
- You have access to the Admin area
- You have at least one existing website configured as your base design
Why use website templates?
Website templates allow you to reuse an existing store’s layout, design, and configuration when creating new stores.
- Launch new stores faster with pre-configured layouts and products
- Maintain consistent branding across multiple stores
- Reduce setup errors by standardizing store configuration
- Support scalable workflows for campaigns, teams, or affiliates
Step 1: Create a clonable template
- Go to Websites → Manage Websites.
- Click on the website you want to use as your template.
- Navigate to Administration → Clone Store Settings.
- Choose one of the following options:
- Clone once – creates a one-time copy of the store
- New stores can be created using this store’s settings – enables this store as a reusable template
- Enter a name for the template.
- DecoNetwork will automatically append “Template” to the name.
Select the option to allow new stores to be created using this store’s settings
Step 2: Enable template usage for new stores
After creating a template, you must enable templates in your store options. Without this step, your template will not appear when creating new stores.
- Go to Websites.
- Open Store Options.
- Enable New store signup templates.
- (Optional) Enable Force stores to select a template.
Enable template usage so templates appear during store creation
Step 3: Create a new store using the template
- Go to Websites → Add Store.
- Choose whether the store:
- Belongs to you, or
- Belongs to a customer
- Click Save.
- In the New Store configuration page, select your template from the Store Configuration list.
- Complete the remaining setup and create the store.
Your template will appear as an option during store creation
Best-practice tips
- Fully configure your store (products, pages, branding, pricing) before cloning it
- Use templates for repeatable store types such as campaigns, teams, or affiliate stores
- Enable Force template selection to ensure consistency
- Name templates clearly so they are easy to identify during store creation
Troubleshooting
-
Template selection not showing when creating a store:
Ensure Enable new store signup templates is checked in Store Options -
Store created without template design:
Templates must be selected during store creation. This cannot be easily changed afterward -
Template changes not reflected in new stores:
Only changes made before store creation are applied; existing stores are not updated automatically
