Quote Mode transforms your online store into a quote-request experience instead of a traditional checkout. Customers can build a cart, apply customizations, and submit it as a quote request rather than completing a purchase immediately.
Unlike standard ordering, Quote Mode allows customers to view a total price for their selections while preventing online payment at checkout. This ensures orders that require review or adjustment are submitted for approval before moving forward.
In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps required to activate and configure quote mode within your DecoNetwork web store.

Prerequisites
- You must be logged in with Admin access to the store you want to update.
Why enable Quote Mode
Quote Mode is designed for businesses that need flexibility before taking payment – especially when decoration, quantities, or delivery requirements can change pricing.
- Reduce purchase pressure for high-value or complex orders.
- Capture leads by letting customers submit requirements as a quote request.
- Streamline bespoke pricing for bulk, contract, or custom decoration workflows.
What changes when Quote Mode is enabled?
Customers add products to a quote request instead of placing an order. No payment is collected at checkout.
Step 1: Open Checkout Options
- Log into your DecoNetwork Website.
-
Browse to Admin → Websites → Manage → Store Configuration → Checkout Options.
The Checkout Options page will be displayed in the work area.
Step 2: Enable Quote Mode
- In Checkout Options, find the setting: Submit carts as quote requests instead of orders (no payment collected).
-
Tick the checkbox.
When the checkbox is ticked, the website will run in Quote Mode where customers will not be able to make purchases. Products are added to quotes rather than orders, allowing customers to see the total price, but not place orders.
Tip:
Consider updating your website messaging (banner, homepage text, or FAQs) so customers clearly understand they are submitting a quote request – not completing a purchase.
The Hide all pricing on website option will also become visible
Step 3: (Optional) Hide pricing on the website
After you enable Quote Mode, you can optionally hide pricing so customers focus on submitting requirements rather than checking out immediately.
-
Under the Quote Mode setting, enable Hide all pricing on website (optional).
Important:
Enabling Hide all pricing on website hides product pricing from customers while browsing. If you want customers to still see prices (but submit as a quote), leave this option unchecked.
- Click Save.
Best-practice tips
- Add a short note on key pages (homepage, cart, checkout) explaining: “Checkout is disabled – submit your cart as a quote request.”
- Set internal response expectations (e.g., “Quotes answered within 1 business day”) and ensure your team monitors incoming quote requests.
- If you hide pricing, provide a clear next step so customers understand how they’ll receive pricing and turnaround details.
Troubleshooting
Quote Mode isn’t taking effect
- Confirm you clicked Save after enabling Quote Mode.
- Make sure you updated the correct store (if you manage multiple websites).
- If your theme has custom code, confirm it isn’t overriding checkout behavior or displaying purchase buttons independently.
Pricing is still visible
- If you want to hide pricing, confirm Hide all pricing on website is enabled (after Quote Mode is turned on).
- If custom HTML/CSS or widgets display prices, they may need to be updated to respect the store’s pricing visibility settings.
