You can require a minimum order quantity for Business Hub (BH) without enforcing the same minimum on your public website by using two separate blank products: one configured with a minimum quantity and restricted to Business Hub, and one with no minimum that’s available only on the website. This article shows you how to set that up safely and predictably.

Prerequisites
- Admin access to your DecoNetwork account.
- Understanding of which decorated products (if any) reference the original blank.
Why set a BH-only minimum?
Many fulfillment centers accept small orders online but want to enforce a higher minimum when orders are placed internally by staff (e.g., to match production constraints or wholesale policies). A BH-only minimum order quantity (MOQ) lets you:
- Protect production capacity by avoiding uneconomic, low-volume BH jobs.
- Keep your storefront friction-free for retail shoppers (no enforced MOQ).
- Apply different commercial rules per channel without custom code.
How this works
Key concept: Minimum order quantity is controlled at the blank product level. There is no native setting that enforces MOQ in BH only. The solution is to use two blanks:
- Website Blank: No MOQ; available on the storefront only.
- BH Blank: MOQ set (e.g., 6); available in Business Hub only.
Decorated products inherit quantity rules from their linked blank, so ensure each decorated product points to the correct blank for its channel.
Step 1: Duplicate the existing blank product
- Go to Admin → Products.
- Find the blank used by your current website/decorated product(s).
- Click Manage → Copy.
- Name it clearly, e.g., “[Product Name] — BH (MOQ 6)”.
Copy the original blank to create a Business Hub–only version.
Step 2: Set the minimum order quantity on the BH blank
- Open the duplicated blank.
- Navigate to Minimum Quantities & Bundles.
- Set Minimum quantity to 6 (or your required value).
- Save.
Configure the MOQ on the BH copy of your blank product.
Step 3: Restrict the BH blank to Business Hub only
- In the same BH blank, go to Availability.
-
Under Business Hub and Webstore Availability, set "This product is only available in Business Hub".
Make the MOQ blank available only in Business Hub.
- Save.
Step 4: Keep the original blank for the website only
- Open the original blank (the one without MOQ).
- Go to Availability.
-
Set "This product is only available in Webstores" (recommended to prevent staff selecting it).
Make the MOQ blank available only in Business Hub.
- Save.
Step 5: Point decorated products to the correct blank
- For any decorated product built on this blank, confirm its linked blank:
- Website-facing decorated products → Website Blank (no MOQ).
- BH-only use cases or internal order templates → BH Blank (MOQ).
- Update mappings as needed and Save.
Ensure decorated products inherit quantity rules from the intended blank.
Step 6: Test both channels
- On the website, add the product to cart and verify no MOQ is enforced.
- In Business Hub, create an order with the BH blank and confirm the MOQ = 6 enforcement.
Result & channel behavior
| Channel | Blank in use | Enforced minimum |
|---|---|---|
| Website | Website Blank (no MOQ) | None |
| Business Hub | BH Blank (MOQ 6) | 6 pieces |
Best-practice tips
- Clear names: Include channel and MOQ in the blank name (e.g., “Sport Tee — Website (No MOQ)” and “Sport Tee — BH (MOQ 6)”).
- Limit BH visibility: Hide the website blank from BH to avoid accidents.
- Audit decorated links: After copying the blank, revisit decorated products so each points to the intended blank.
- Train staff: Share a one-pager with screenshots for CSRs on choosing the BH blank.
Troubleshooting
BH doesn’t enforce the MOQ: You’re likely using the website blank in BH. Edit the BH order line to select the BH (MOQ) blank, or restrict the website blank from BH availability.
The website is enforcing an MOQ: A decorated product may be linked to the BH (MOQ) blank. Update the decorated product to use the website blank.
FAQs
Can I enforce MOQ directly in Business Hub without duplicates?
Not natively. MOQ is defined on the blank product and applies wherever that blank is available. Separating blanks by channel is the supported approach.
Can I use different MOQs for different stores?
Yes. Create additional blank copies (e.g., per store), set each MOQ, and control Store Availability accordingly.
Does this work with decorated products?
Yes. Decorated products inherit rules from their linked blank—just ensure each decorated product links to the correct channel-specific blank.
